Until a month ago, the only Yerba Mate I’d had was out of a gourd in the back of a bus in Buenos Aires. Must admit, I didn’t love it. A bit bitter. A bit chewy. Quite honestly, it tasted a bit like I was licking an ash tray.
Then I was introduced to Aviva Wild Harvest Yerba Mate. Pretty good stuff! Smooth, refreshing, packed conveniently in tea bags or whole leaf.
Apparently Yerba Mate is full of good stuff – tons of antioxidants and other goodies. Its been enjoyed for a very long time by our American friends in the Southern Hemisphere. Perhaps now is the time for Yerba Mate to make it big in the NAFTA zone.
